Expanding the starter.

Some passionate bread-lovers say they can enjoy baguettes in France with no problems, and noticed that bread here in the US would give them unpleasant symptoms, so I decided to look for French-grown wheat and see how my husband and friends felt after eating it. Success!

I love to eat a slice with Kerrygold butter and flaky Maldon sea salt.

Now my next step is to figure out how to work the rhythm of sourdough into my routines of driving, cooking, early mornings, early nights, and maybe some painting.

It's been different, in a refreshing way. No big trips, so this is the first time since 2020 that I have had so many days strung together for studio work.

I just sold a painting yesterday! It is a surprise gift, so I'm not sharing about that on socials yet, but I did save my client shipping charges. Note to self: configure website so that in-person pickup is available. Also design and add a sticker to my my next StickerMule order: "SOLA: Support Our Local Artists!"

I have spent some time planning how I deliver finished art, including a folder with a certificate of authenticity for each work.

And I got this cool custom stamp for my wax seal:

I put a little melted wax overlapping my signature, then I imprint my logo in the wax. A touch of the medieval!

After closing for Hurricane Ian, the Baker Museum at Artis Naples is scheduled to reopen tomorrow, October 11! Now I will have another chance to spend time looking at these paintings. Below are some of my own photos from my first visit to this exhibition, last month. I encourage you to go and enjoy these, rest your soul, and celebrate the endurance of beauty.
